Comments about Epson Perfection 4990 Photo Flatbed Scanner:

I'm only an amateur and this review might not apply for those more advanced in this line of work. I purchased this scanner in order to print and archive old negatives (50+years) given me by a relative. My previously owned scanner was limited to 35mm format. The scanner worked like a dream. Most of the color negatives had had color shift, and the scanner's software made excellent corrections. Using the scanner's software to correct for exposure, color, contrast, etc. saved incredible amounts of time that would have been needed in Photoshop. The only drawback I found was the amount of time the scanner took when using the Digital ICE program.
